About Us

Clearwater Outfitters is a small family owned and operated business serving serious hunters, fishermen, and site seers since 1964. In that time, we have logged hundreds of sucessful hunts and have helped others to harvest trophy bear, elk and deer in fair chase hunting on public land in the Mallard Larkin Pioneer area in the Clearwater National Forest.

Clearwater Outfitters is operated under special use permit with the Clearwater National Forest. Idaho licenses one outfitter per area, which means there are no other guides operating in the 100 plus square miles of our service area, which includes the famed Mallard-Larkin Pioneer area, home to Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Moose, and Mountain Goat. Pioneer area means no motorized vehicles are allowed. You'll see no ATVs and few other people on your back country hunts with us! The only way to access these rugged, prime elk and deer habitat is to pack in, like we do.

Roger Haworth has been guiding in Idaho since 1999. Before moving to Idaho Roger was a rancher and avid outdoorsman in Oregon, where he was born and raised. With a desire to make guided hunting trips in Idaho more affordable, Roger purchased Clearwater Outfitters in 2006. Enlisting the help of family and friends, Roger has kept Clearwater Outfitters tradition of family, friends and fun alive and well.

George, head of camp security, has been with Roger since he was a pup. Born and raised in the deserts of Oregon, he took to the mountains of Idaho with a vengence. His favorite pasttimes are chasing squirrels and baiting bear.
